Our Background
We are Glorious Garden Rooms, a family business headed up by Richard de Sousa.
We started over 20 years ago, renovating buildings for ourselves but for the last decade have worked for people like you. We’ve worked on single bathroom renovations, up to million pound projects on multi-million pound properties in Central London and Birmingham.
We have provided advice to homeowners like you in the “Ask An Expert” areas of both Grand Designs and the Homebuilding & Renovating Shows and have given presentations on stage on how to choose the right building contractor.
Our previous renovation company, Mister & Missus Ltd won regional awards in the Master Builder of the Year Awards 2015 and 2017 and were proud National winners in the Heritage category in 2019.
The inspiration behind Glorious Garden Rooms
Our family recently moved into our own self built home, made from Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), which became our inspiration for Glorious Garden Rooms.
We were wanting to buy a garden room for ourselves, but were unable to couldn’t find the quality that we needed. We wanted a permanent extension to our home, not a shed.
Because our house was built from SIPs, we already knew that they could be the perfect solution for a garden room. Not only do we have our own glorious garden room, we can now offer one to you.
Meet the Team
Richard Company Director
Company director, project manager, passionate about absolutely everything.
Dylan General Builder
Started his apprenticeship with us stripping wallpaper aged 3, he's Richard's son. Now a general builder, qualified Dive Master and marketing whizz, he's a creative thinker and great at problem solving.
Neil Plasterer
Neil has been working with us since he was 18. Plasterer by trade but he’s also brilliant at woodwork and tiling. He’s younger than he looks!
Matty Carpenter
Our longest serving carpenter. All round good guy and talented carpenter, he worked from start to finish building our house, we love him that much.
Tim Electrician
Fully qualified, he’s been our electrician since 2010 and is all about attention to detail. He talks to everyone as if they are also a qualified electrician – that’s how passionate he is about his job.
Karwan General Builder
Karwan is our flooring specialist. He’s the quietest member of our team but he’s always smiling and works hard. Solid wood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl tile, laminate, carpet; there’s no floor he hasn’t fitted!
Rio Company Mascot
He likes to think that he’s quality control, mainly by licking, chewing and tasting everything.
