Alison Hammond, renowned television personality and beloved presenter on ITV’s This Morning and Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off, teamed up with our creative team of experts to reimagine her outdoor space.
Her new garden room is a versatile sanctuary, designed to meet meeting her specific needs for social media and voice-over work during the day and entertainment by night.
Crafting The Vision
Alison's dynamic personality required a space that could match her vibrant energy yet offer a calming environment for work.
Inspired by her love for cinema and her need for a quiet, personal workspace, we set out to design a dual-purpose garden room that could seamlessly transition between an office and a home cinema.
We took up the challenge enthusiastically, keeping Alison's unique needs at the centre of our design process.
Catering to All Needs
Alison's garden room had to be more than just a home office and cinema room. As a prominent television personality, Alison uses various platforms to engage with her followers. She required a space where she could record high-quality social media content and conduct voice-over work in peace. To address this, we ensured the room was quiet, airtight, and usable throughout the year.
Choosing SIPs for the Build
That's where Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) came in. SIPs provide excellent insulation and maintain an optimal indoor environment, regardless of the season. These airtight panels also offer superior noise isolation, making them the perfect choice for this project.
Building from Scratch
In true 'This Morning' style, we served up something fresh and exciting for Alison's garden. We rose to the task, just like a contestant on The Great British Bake Off, creating a multipurpose room from scratch that matches Alison's vibrant energy. In the daytime, the space serves as a well-lit, practical office with a peaceful atmosphere.
As night falls, it transitions into a snug cinema room, ready for family movie nights with her son, Aidan.
The Outcome
Today, Alison enjoys her very own multipurpose retreat right in her garden. She can work, create digital content, record voice-overs, or relax with a movie in her tailored garden room.
